Opening Day is less than 48 hours away...

This past week was a busy one but so well worth it!  There were so many smiling faces at both Open House Nights! It was well worth all the work we did to get ready.  One things for sure...

• First Day of School.  Please arrive at TCEA by 7:20 AM and at your stations by 7:30 AM
• Make sure your know how each student will go home.
• Be flexible!!!
• Be welcoming!!!
• Be your wonderful selves,
• Wait to dismiss your students until announcement is made.
• Meet for quick debrief in cafe' immediately after dismissal.

Setting the Stage for Success!!!!!

Welcome to the beginning of our 2017-2018 school year here at The Capitol Encore Academy.  WELCOME HOME to our new staff members! We are happy to have you at TCEA and look forward to working alongside you to create amazing learning opportunities for all of our students this year.  To my returning staff...WELCOME BACK! This year is going to be awesome and I know that you will help me welcome our new staff members and aid in their transition this Fall.

This week, I am going to share a recent episode I heard on the TED Radio Hour.  The title of the episode is Rethinking Education and is a topic close to the heart of me and my fellow visionaries at TCEA.  We all recognize that the traditional way of teaching students is not working for ALL of our students.  This episode gave me a lot to think about and I would like for you to listen to this so we can continue the conversation throughout this coming year.  We need to think "outside of the box" to continue to live out the mission and vision of our school and give all our students a chance at a successful career.
