Planning is Not an Option This Coming Week
Poem by Angela McCall Hill
I know that many of you have had a fit,
Dealing with all the stuff that the end of the year brings with fear.
Don't worry...the last day of the 2018-2019 school year is almost here.
Let me warn you before you throw caution to the wind
Not planning for this coming week will leave much to mend.
Our students are just as tired as we are.
For some will be so sad when on Friday they wave goodbye from their car.
This sadness, anxiety, fear and excitement mix to create an unique and wild atmosphere
That causes this principal to take a minute to explain to you my dear...
You're still the instructor and adult in our building and our students are not capable of designing their day without your guidance and care.
If you plan for the day, even the fun, you will ensure that our students are easier to bare.
What it looks like and how it feels is all in your hands
And I know you still have enough joy in you to make this last week grand.
Rest up and prepare and remember that this last week of the 2018-2019 school year
Will be one of the things our students carry as souvenirs
Of all of our sweat and tears
That we hold so near.
I hope you have had a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow! - Angela
